Plantation pediatric ER
At Plantation General Hospital, we have a dedicated pediatric emergency room (ER), open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. When you bring your child to our pediatric ER, you know they are receiving quality, personalized care from a team of board-certified pediatric emergency care physicians. We are one of the only dedicated pediatric ERs in the area, providing care for kids of all ages.
If your child is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately. For non-emergency questions about our pediatric ER, please call our Consult-A-Nurse® team at (954) 321-4099.
About the pediatric ER
The pediatric ER at Plantation General Hospital is a 12-bed unit treating patients from infancy through adolescence. Our pediatric ER is designed to offer a customized, comforting environment for both children and parents alike. The pediatric ER features specialized pieces of furniture and medical equipment made for children.
Our pediatric ER treats a variety of children's medical conditions, from ear infections and stomachaches to broken bones and cuts.
If your child should require continued care or admission to Plantation General Hospital, you can feel confident knowing they are in experienced hands with our complete pediatric services.
Short ER wait times
Our emergency room staff prides itself on getting patients the attention they need quickly. Critically ill children coming to our ER will be treated first. If your child’s symptoms change while you are waiting, please notify a nurse for further evaluation.
Pediatric intensive care unit (PICU)
The Children's Center at our hospital offers kids in Plantation quality, individualized pediatric care. Children admitted to the hospital will be brought to The Children's Center. If critical care is needed for your child, we have an on-site PICU.
We know that having your child in the PICU is stressful. We provide overnight accommodations for parents, so you can stay with your child throughout their stay.
