Plantation General’s Children’s Center ER is staffed 24 hours a day by pediatricians, pediatric emergency physicians and pediatric emergency nurses. As one of the only dedicated pediatric ER's in the area, we care for the tiniest of patients to teenagers.
Because most doctors' offices are closed in the evenings, we are here for you. Plantation General Hospital Pediatric Emergency Room treats a variety of children's medical conditions, from ear infections and stomach aches, to broken bones and cuts that need stitches.
Pediatricians in Plantation General Hospital’s Pediatric Emergency Department treat:
- Respiratory problems (including asthma)
- Urinary problems
- Rashes/ irritations
- Sore throats
- Vomiting and diarrhea
- And much more
Some children that come to the Pediatric ER are critically ill, and are admitted into our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The Pediatric ER and the PICU work closely together to make sure everything flows smoothly.
Parents of pediatric patients are encouraged to stay with their child at Plantation General Hospital.
Parents are considered part of the care team at Plantation General Hospital. Our goal is to make things easier for children and their families, which includes providing parents with a hospital room where they can stay overnight while their child is in the PICU.
