Pediatric Emergency Department
Plantation General’s Children’s Center ER is staffed 24 hours a day by pediatricians, pediatric emergency physicians and pediatric emergency nurses. As one of the only dedicated pediatric ER's in the area, we care for the tiniest of patients to teenagers.
Because most doctors' offices are closed in the evenings, we are here for you. PGH’s Children’s Center ER treats a variety of children's medical conditions, from ear infections and stomach aches, to broken bones and cuts that need stitches.
We also treat the following:
- Fevers
- Respiratory problems (including asthma)
- Urinary problems
- Rashes/ irritations
- Sore throats
- Lacerations
- Vomiting and diarrhea
- Intoxication
- And much more…
Because Plantation General Hospital provides further care to children in our Children’s Center with a pediatric inpatient unit and pediatric intensive care unit, some children that come to the Pediatric ER are critically ill, and therefore are provided further specialized care in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. The Pediatric ER and the Pediatric ICU work closely together to make sure everything flows smoothly.
At Plantation General Hospital, our goal is to make things easier for children and their families, which includes providing parents with a hospital room where they can stay overnight while their child is in the pediatric ICU.
We know how to soothe the little ones and develop a rapport with the adolescents. We continue to seek the latest technology to better care for your child.
